Sensational Saturday!!!

First of all, I would like to apologize for the lack of postings lately. I have been extremely busy. So this past weekend one of the sweetest electronic dance nights, Sensation White - Wicked Wonderland, stopped at the Parken Colliseum in Copenhagen Denmark with a pretty unreal line-up. With big names such as Eric E, Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Tocadisco they kept the party going all night (until 4AM) for tens of thousands of partiers!!! A friend of mine from Sweden was there and she said it was one of the most incredible atmosphere's ever, just check out the youtube clips. Since it's Sensation White, all revelers are required to wear all white. I must admit the idea is kind of weird but it looks fucking awesome, just check out the picks at
http://www.sensation.com/

This event is not just in Europe, they do stops all around the world. Ones coming up in the near future that are announced are in Melbourne-Australia (in which last year for NYE 2008 they set a Guinness World Record for the biggest party in one room with 38,800 people - check out the pics on the site), Dusseldorf-Germany, Hasselt-Belgium, Santiago-Chile, Sao Paulo-Brazil, Vienna-Austria, Lisbon-Portugal, Budapest-Hungary, Zurich-Switzerland, and last but not least Prague in the Czech Republic.

The event first started in Amsterdam in 2000 in the Amsterdam Arena for a period of 5 years, but due to popular demand, the organization decided to expand globally...and what a job they did. I hope to make it there one day soon! Anyone game? I added a couple of 2 hour sets a couple DJ's:

1. Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso (part of the Swedish House Mafia) and one of my favourite DJ's:
Live @ Sensation - Wicked Wonderland, Copenhagen Denmark (11/31/09) - Sebastian Ingrosso & Axwell

2. Tocadisco, #84 on the 2009 Top 100 DJ list, a house/techno DJ who is pretty dam good.
Live @ Sensation - Wicked Wonderland, Copenhagen Denmark (11/31/09) - Tocadisco

I hope you like these, let me know what you think! If you can watch Eric E on youtube, it has a pretty good sound! Cheers!

Be @ The Club!!!

Okay, so this has to be one of the coolest websites that I have stumbled upon. Be @ is a company that goes all over the world and films DJ sets and festivals (from multiple angles) for anyone around the world to view online. They have been to some sick festivals such as Creamfields, Bestival, and Global Gathering. Who needs to fly around the world and spend $200 on a ticket when you can rock out to the sweet tracks from the comfort of your own home. It is free to sign up and is totally worth it. It is someone like a facebook where you can have friends, write on walls, and also maintain a profile. I highly suggest that if you are even remotely interested to set up an account, it takes all of two seconds and enables you to watch entire sets.

You can search for venues, artists, and festivals...pretty dope! You are also able to watch club sets from some of the sweetest clubs in the world. It takes you around the world...from London to Ibiza to New York to Buenos Aires to Singapore to name a few.

http://www.be-at.tv/

Be sure to check out this site on October 28th, there will be a live broadcast from Ministry Of Sound in London for the annoucement of the 2009 Top 100 DJ's. There will be a few sets from DJ's who spin many different genres of electronic music; some of the notables are Above & Beyond, David Guetta, Armin van Burren, Sander van Doorn, and Sebastian Ingrosso. It should be a sweet show!!! Who will be crowned #1 DJ in 2009?!?!?! I will be posting notables from the 2009 Top 100 after that day. Be sure to check it out!

Laktos Anyone?!?!

Here is one of my favourite tracks at the moment. It's produced by Sebastian Ingrosso, one of the three member of the Swedish House Mafia. Partnered with Axwell, and Steve Angello, the Swedish House Mafia are excellent DJ's who I would love to see live. At Creamfields 2009 they had their own tent with sets from Kim Fai, Funkagenda, Dave Spoon, & Dirty South. If you know house music, those are some pretty sick names. So here it is:

Laktos (Original Mix) - Sebastian Ingrosso.mp3

Hope you enjoy it!!! Let me know what you think of this (drop me a line in the Comments) so I got a feel for the stuff I should be/be not posting. Thanks!!!

Parklife 2009

Parklife 2009 in Brisbane started the festival season in the Land Down Under. With summer just around the corner in Australia, there a many excellent festivals coming up with amazing line-ups. Parklife (with sets from Erol Alkan, MSTRKRFT, The Aston Shuffle, Empire Of The Sun & A-Trak) is just a warm-up for what is to come in the summer months ahead. I have attached a one hour set of Erol Alkan that I got from my a friends blog over in Aus (www.stayingsick.blogspot.com).

Live @ Parklife '09, Brisbane Australia (09-26-2009) - Erol Alkan.mp3

I have never heard much from Erol Alkan before, but after this set, it's safe to say I am a fan. I love the transitions he uses as well as when he drops "Sweet Dreams"...what an excellent choice! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Laidback Luke In Calgary!

LAIDBACK LUKE & BART B MOORE

Laidback Luke & Bart B Moore did their first show of their North American tour at Vinyl Dance Lounge in Calgary, AB this past Wednesday and it had to be the sickest DJ set Calgary will see for awhile. B Moore started the night with a pretty shaky set to start with but came in with full force half way through his 1.5 hour set. LBL followed B Moore with a great transition into "Let Me Clear My Throat". The set was excellent touching on all of his singles and the hot tracks of 2009 including Break The House Down, Riverside, Be, Show Me Love, Leave The World Behind, Let's Make Nasty, and I Got A Feeling.

Seeing Laidback Luke at the We Love Sounds Winter Festival 2009 in Sydney Australis was completely different than this club set. At We Love, he played in front of about 5-10 thousand people compared to Calgary's couple hundred giving you an up close an personal feel to his set. I got the rare chance of getting to meet him along with a great photo opportunity. I took a few friends who are just getting into the House music scene and they had an absolute blast seeing one of the worlds best. It was a chance to see one of my Idols in action, in a small venue environment.

Here are a few sweet tracks (other than the most popular ones that everyone knows) that I love, that he dropped during his 2 hour set at Vinyl:

Rock Da House (Angger Dimas Club Mix) - Mind Electric.mp3

Walking Down The Street (With My Nike's On) - Ron Carroll.mp3

Eminem - Nobody Listen To Techno (JoGuedez Raven Remix)
**Unfortunately I Could Not Find A Download So Here Is The Link***

These are three completely different styles of House music, which shows you Laidback Luke's skill in being able to mix these all together into one kick-ass set!!!

Sexxxxxy Biiiitch!!!

Alright, so after the new release of the song "Sexy Bitch" produced by both Akon & David Guetta, there have been many remixes of this track. Some of them have been brutal and some have been incredible. As we know, David Guetta (Voted Best House DJ in 2009) made this song what it is in the club scene. I have attached the original song as well as a couple of my favourite remixes. David Guetta dropped the Chuckie & Lil John Remix at Creamfields 2009 and it made the crowd go nuts. If you do not like that remix, you definately have a poor choice in music!!! I hope you enjoy these sick tracks!!!

David Guetta Ft. Akon - Sexy Bitch (Original).mp3

David Guetta Ft. Akon - Sexy Bitch (Afrojack Remix).mp3

David Guetta Ft. Akon - Sexy Bitch (Chuckie & Lil John Remix).mp3

These are probably the best two remixes of this song that are out right now. I am sure they will not dissapoint!!!

Laidback Luke...T-Minus 1 Week!!!

Alright, so in a weeks time we finally get to see one of the best DJ's in the world. Last year Laidback Luke hit DJ Magazines Top 100 DJ's coming in at #46. With his DJ career exploding in 2009 he will be climbing the ranks to hopefully the Top 10. We will find out soon enough as the 12th Annual DJ Awards will be posted September 24th! He has been asked to play at some huge festivals throughout the year and has put out some sick tracks. Here are a few of his tracks for you to download and get you in the mood for next week:

1. This is one of the tracks that made LBL famous and one of my favourites.
Been Along Time - TV Rock Ft. Rudy (Laidback Luke Remix).mp3

2. A great remix of a Daft Punk original.
Around The World - Daft Punk (Laidback Luke Remix).mp3

3. A Laidback Luke Bootleg to a rap song...not bad but not my favourite.
Made You Look - Nas (Laidback Luke Bootleg).mp3

4. This next one is just a sweet song, can't put it any other way.
Sex Weed - Juice String (Laidback Luke Remix).mp3

5. Now we get into some of his more famous tracks.
I Can't Help Myself (Laidback Luke Remix) - Belltrax.mp3

6. These are now Laidback Luke originals. This next song is something that he drops in everyone of his sets, it is a funky track that shows how technically good this guy really is.
Break The House Down - Laidback Luke.mp3

7. Does this song not remind you of some sort of sound you would hear in a factory???
We Like That Disco Sound - Laidback Luke.mp3

8. Probably one his best recorded songs in my opinion. This song is the fucking bomb!!!
Shake It Down - Laidback Luke & A-Trak.mp3

9. Another brilliant remix to this song. I would have to say this is one of the most remixed songs so far this year and Laidback Luke rocks the shit out of it. I am sure we will hear this song next Wednesday! Hope you enjoy it!
Heartbreaker (Laidback Luke Remix) - MSTRKRFT Ft. John Legend.mp3

10. LAST BUT NOT LEAST, this has to be one of the best sets I have ever heard in my life (next to the David Guetta set at Creamfields 2009). The only thing that sets this above David Guetta is that I was actually at this set. Its recorded live and should give you a good vibe of what to expect...I HOPE! I hope his set next Wednesday is similar to this, if so, it will be a wild fucking night!
Laidback Luke Live @ We Love Sounds Winter Festival (06-06-2009; Sydney, Australia) - LBL.mp3

Thanks to everyone who has been checking out my site and becoming a follower. Once I get my gear, I will be posting some of my mixes on hear so stay tuned for that. Cheers!!!

So it's official, Laidback Luke is coming to Calgary with his Dutch counterpart Bart B Moore. After seeing him at the We Love Sounds Winter Festival in Sydney Australia this past June, I think its safe to say he will be bringing his A game. A phenomenal DJ who will have you dancing all night long.

September 23, 2009 (Doors @ 9PM)

For those of you who have never heard any of Luke's stuff, above is a mix that he did on Radio FG (its similar to the UK's BBC Radio One but for France) Saturday August 2nd of this year. I am not sure if it will be similar but I would expect it to be. I will post more of his work on the blog in the coming days so you can get a good feel for his style. Hope you enjoy it!!!

Belly Dance To Thriller!

Alright so I have been spending alot of time on the net trying to track down some sweet songs and I have found quite a few of all different genres. The first track is a funky one made by a DJ/Producer duo called Round Table Knights. It is a mixture of awesome sounds and great vocals with exceptional bass lines. This song is lots of fun and would go great in any club! If this doesn't get your toe tappin', I have no idea what will! This is one of my favourites right now...great track!!!

Belly Dance (Mowgli Mix) - Round Table Knights.mp3

Next up is a tribute to Michael Jackson and his infamous song "Thriller". I heard a few different versions over the last month or so, but I think this is the best club version. It also came in on beatport.com's top 100 songs at #9. Enjoy!!!

Thriller (David Jones Mix) - Diva & Jones.mp3

The last song for today is a mix by Afrojack. I heard this song quite a bit when I was in Australia but I could never seem to track it down on the internet until now. Dave Spoon, the legend who brings us the song "At Night", ran this in the middle of his set at Creamfields 2009 just a few weekends ago. So here it is!!!

Cool (Afrojack Mix) - Spencer Hill.mp3

Just a reminder that these songs only stay on my blog for a limited time as they get deleted from mediafire after x amount of time (pretty sure it's 90 days), so if you want them its best to download them asap. Cheers!!!

Club World #1- PACHA Buenos Aires

So I decided that it would be cool to show some of my friends out there what clubbing around the world is really like outside of Canada. Each week/month/or whenever I feel like it, I am going to give you a rundown on some of the best clubs in the world.

First on my list is one of my personal favourites and coming in at #22 in the world on DJ Magazines top 100 clubs of 2008, PACHA Buenos Aires! The name PACHA gives it all away is it considered one of the biggest names in Clubbing with Electro/House music. With locations all over the world; Brazil, Argentina, Ibiza, Russia, NYC, Spain, etc! I was lucky enough to visit PACHA Buenos Aires during its 15th anniversary celebration with DJ Dan, Markos Paz, and DJ Zuker. There is something about 6000 people under one roof dancing their asses off to some sick music that just makes it an evening to remember. In Argentina, going out takes a toll on the body as you get to the club no earlier than 3AM and party the night (or morning) away until about 10AM with numerous after party invites handed out when leaving the club. Just remember to wear your sunglasses IN the club as that seems to be the biggest fad, quite bizarre to be honest, but they are your best friend when leaving the club at 10AM after being in a dark environment all night!

Covering three floors, the center is open for you two overlook the main dance floor where you can hardly find a place to move. When you needed a drink and a break from the dancing, the bottle service wasn't bad either, a bottle of Smirnoff and 6 Red Bull were approximately $20 CAD. All in all, PACHA Buenos Aires has to be one of the sickest clubs I have ever been to and no country (that I have been to) parties harder than Argentina. With a European vibe in South America, visiting PACHA BA is a must. New Years Eve anyone?

I attached the PACHA Buenos Aires link for anyone who wants to check it out!!!

Creamfields 2009

Creamfields is the UK’s No.1 dance festival and over the last 10 years has held the crown as the world’s best dance festival. During the last weekend of August, the best DJ's in the world came together near Chesire, England to give partiers the chance to go wild to some of the best house, trance, and electro tracks of '09. Over the course of the two day festival, approximately 66 000 specatators came to join the party (unfortunately I was not one of them) and dance the weekend away. Boasting big names such as Tiesto, Deadmau5, Laidback Luke, Pete Tong, James Zabiella, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia, Dave Spoon, and Eric Morillo, it was no wonder that the festival sold out with tickets costing approximately 100 pounds for a day at the event.

Here is a really good set that are recorded live from Creamfields 2009:

David Guetta - This set started an hour late due to the fact the police were holding 20 000 people back from getting into the Cream stage that was already packed. Guetta apologizes to the crowd in an emotional reunion as Creamfields was the first festival he played at (back in the day). Enjoy this set, its pretty much amazing!!!

David Guetta - Live @ Creamfields (08-29-2009).mp3

The setlist can be found in the comments. It goes in order from start to finish so if you want a particular song, check it out in the comments. Also, if you know the song that are "Unknown", please let me know!!! Cheers!
